Blue Student Ministry Missions Teams Report (2021)

Blue Student Ministry's summer has been marked by deep community, among our students and with the places we’ve served. Our students have a hunger to share the gospel and to see others come to faith in Jesus. Please keep them in your prayers as they wrap up the summer with a Dallas outreach project and gear up for the new school year.

High School Students
ALASKA, JUNE 2021

Blue high school students traveled to Alaska in early June. Blue Student Ministry is returning the the area, as they continue to develop relationships with the community there. Students visited neighborhoods in need to lead outdoor Bible studies and host block-party style gatherings where they proclaimed the Good News of Jesus.

A story...

My name is Elly, and I worked as an intern with Blue this Summer. I got the opportunity to go to both Alaska and West Virginia, and we had the best time serving those communities, and the Lord.

In Alaska, I got the chance to share the gospel with a kid at the park I was working at; his name was Kimoni. He was very talkative, and loved sharing about his home life, school, and whatever was on his mind, and we connected while playing catch. I could tell he had something on his mind, so I asked him if I could tell him a story. We sat down in the grass and I asked him if he goes to church, and he said he didn’t. I pulled out a gospel illustration graphic that GraceWorks provided and explained to him that God created the world to be perfect, but humans brought sin into the world. We talked about how sin separates us from God and how we live in a broken world. And, I told him the good news, that God sent His son Jesus to save us from this world, and all we need to do is accept him as our Lord and Savior. Afterwards I asked him, “Where do you see yourself, with God or in the broken world?” He said “I don’t see myself anywhere. I don’t fit in because I’m a different color than everyone at school.” While my heart broke upon hearing this, I got to tell him that Jesus loves him and that he was created for a purpose. His eyes widened. I asked him, “Do you want to accept Jesus into your heart today?” And he said “yes”!

So we prayed the sinner's prayer together! I hadn't ever shared the gospel with anyone before, so this was an awesome experience for us both. God moves in ways we can't imagine, and I am so thankful to see how God worked through Blue this summer!

High School Students
WEST VIRGINIA, JULY 2021

In July, a group of high school students traveled deep into the mountains of West Virginia to connect with a church family, and community in need. The student team provided VBS; helped with construction on a future church plant, and served the community by repainting the 'first multi-level parking garage' in America. Who knew so many gospel conversations could be started because we were the group painting the old garage!?

Blue Middle school students traveled to Amarillo to partner with Mission 2540,  hosting back yard Bible clubs in 8 different neighborhoods, and they worked with Martha’s Home to minister to homeless children. Christmas Offering 2019

Our Annual Christmas Offering

Each year, our congregation contributes to a Christmas Offering, which is given as a gift to support one or more specific ministry goals, meet tangible needs and sharing the gospel.

Our 2020 Christmas Offering was gifted to the North Texas Food Bank; totaling $121,623, which supports 364,869 meals! We followed the gift with a team of Frisco First volunteers who served at the NTFB facility, packaging enough food for 8,800 meals in one afternoon! With all the challenges of the past year, this was a great reminder of how one church can truly help those in need and make an impact for Christ.

Our 2019 Christmas Offering fully funded the construction of two church buildings in Central and South America: Iglesia Evangelica Poder De Dios, in San Marcus de Sierra, Honduras, through North Texas Missions, and Christ’s Church in El Eden, Ecuador, through our partnership with Compassion international.

We support Missions through giving.
